affection

strolling nature, i found that not beauty
or what one may call beauty is able to comfort or sooth pain
not the fields with dandelions, buttercups,
poppies in their eternal show of splendor
amaze me anymore
they need no care
i therefore looked away
isolated roughness of nature's flow
influence of human presence
irregularities, cut off members
broken away by forces of nature
dismembered, rotting in a puddle
dis-formed tree trunks, left behind scars
that caught my affection

so this is christmas
deep frozen ditches
white snow covered alleys
and people on ice skates
with noses red and blue
from cold or whatever
cups with hot chocolate
illuminated shops
expectation of children
decorated pine tree
let's hope it's a good one
cut from the woods

stones i like to throw

oil to anoint

smoke and fire

smoke by day fire by night
sacred meeting on the mount
mutiny in the camp

will they hope

trust and persevere

or lose faith

clouds cover joy
